How to survive energy timers without losing your mind
Energy timers are the most divisive thing in mobile sims, and I get why. You're finally having fun and then a bar empties and the game politely asks you to leave. Rootbound Village does this and it nearly put me off.
The trick is to stop treating these games like something you binge. They're designed to be checked on, not played for hours. Once I switched to two short visits a day, the timers stopped feeling like a wall and started feeling like a natural stopping point.
Plan your session before you spend energy. Know what you want to build or gather, do it in one efficient burst, then log off. Wandering around the menus burns time and tempts you to waste actions.
And genuinely, let the game rest. The waiting is where the game happens — resources grow, timers refill, and coming back to a full village is more satisfying than grinding it flat in one sitting.
